DraftCareer vs Zety
Zety's annual package at $71.40 is close to DraftCareer's $59.99 and is a fair deal. The differences are elsewhere: Zety's free plan exports plain text only, so you cannot send what you build without paying, and its Pro plan bills every 4 weeks rather than monthly — thirteen charges a year, $337.35 rather than the $311.40 twelve would suggest.

Pick Zety if
- You want a long-established product with a very large content library. Zety has been doing this for years and has far more guides, examples and brand recognition than we do.
- Its annual package is only about $11 a year more than ours, which is not a real difference if you prefer the tool.
- You want Instant Job Matches bundled with the builder and a resume checker in one subscription.
- You will genuinely cancel inside fourteen days. $1.95 for a fortnight of full access is cheap if you treat it as a deadline rather than a purchase.
Pick DraftCareer if
- You want a usable file without paying. Zety's free plan exports .txt — your words with every piece of formatting removed, which is not something you can attach to an application. Ours gives a real PDF with no watermark.
- You do not want four-week billing. Zety's Pro plan charges thirteen times a year, not twelve: $337.35 rather than $311.40. Ours is monthly, so twelve.
- You want to pay once. Our 10-day and 60-day passes charge once and end; Zety is subscription-only.
- You want to check a resume before paying. Our ATS checker is free and needs no account; Zety's Resume Check is on the paid packages.

Our ATS checker is free and needs no account. It tells you whether screening software can read the file you already have — worth knowing before you buy a subscription to make a new one.
Questions
Does Zety bill monthly?
No. Zety's Pro package bills every 4 weeks — its own pricing card says it "auto-renews at $25.95 billed every 4 weeks" after the trial. There are thirteen four-week periods in a year, so that is $337.35 a year rather than the $311.40 twelve charges would come to. Its Annual package is billed yearly at $71.40.
Can you download a resume from Zety for free?
Only as plain text. Zety's free Basic Package lists "Download in TXT Format", and unlimited downloads, prints and edits are locked. A .txt file has no layout, so it is not something you can send to an employer. DraftCareer's free plan gives one real PDF with no watermark.
Is DraftCareer cheaper than Zety?
On the annual plans they are close: $59.99 against $71.40. The gap is much wider on the rolling plans — $95.88 a year against $337.35, because Zety's Pro charges every four weeks. Checked October 2026 in US dollars; both products price by region.
What is the catch with Zety's $1.95 trial?
It is not a price, it is fourteen days. Its own card says it auto-renews at $25.95 every four weeks afterwards. Nothing is hidden — the sentence is printed directly under the number — but very few people read it. If you take the trial, put the cancellation date in your calendar the same day.
What are the best Zety alternatives?
It depends what you disliked about it. If it was the TXT-only free export, look for a builder whose free plan produces a real PDF — Kickresume and DraftCareer both do. If it was the four-week billing, look for one that bills monthly or sells a one-off pass. If it was the price, compare annual rates rather than headline monthly ones, since that is where the category hides its real cost.
